The child of Dalmascan turncoats, Sergius was born under a Garlean name in the conquering empire's capitol. His parents hoped that, by endearing themselves to their new imperial masters, it would make life easier for Sergius and his elder brother Nadrin.In a certain way, it did. While never afforded the respect of full-blooded Garleans, Sergius and Nadrin were able to attend a respectable academy and maintain a reputation as model foreign-born citizens. Teachers and elders alike boasted of how well-behaved and receptive to Garlean ideals they were, touting them as potential success stories in the integration of so-called savages.After their time at the academy, Nadrin melded into the chaos of the Bozjan war. Sergius would land a comfortable job in the Doman Office of Public Morality, working under the aupsices of Doma's censor to ensure the ideological compliance of Doman art.If not for the sudden and disastrous collapse of Garlemald's hold on Doma, Sergius may never have fled the empire.~After a long, strange journey overseas, Sergius landed on the shores of Thanalan and promptly set to work pounding Ul'dah's sandy pavement. Wherever he could, he got in touch with other Garlan expatriates, building a loose but useful network of those in a similar position to himself.These efforts would, in due course, lead him to a small research and development house struggling for a foothold in Ul'dah's competitive market.Sergius, due in no small part to a budding romance with one of their members, offered them his insights into Garlemald's system of mass media. They accepted, albeit hesitantly, and so began a madcap journey across the face of Hydaelyn for exotic materials, on-air talent, and some of those wondrous found-family vibes.Then his elder brother came back, causing Sergius to...Furtively reconcile with him and pull him into the fold. All in all it went pretty well, a few bloody noses notwithstanding.

His presence was, at best, tolerable.• You're Garlean, living in ThanalanSergius, in a fashion not unlike the Lemures, made it his business to keep tabs on other Garleans living in and around Ul'dah. As one man his work was neither comprehensive nor entirely successful, but you may have come into contact with him.• You hang out in Ul'dah's seedier sectionsPlaces where the thrills come cheap and the price is still too high, where the barman wipes up blood with the same rag he used to clean your glass. Sergius likes to think he's a real tough guy for hanging out in spots like these.• You listen to the radioThat fabulous new contrivance from fallen Garlemald. Listeners of 306.7 AXON are treated to the news of the day in his high, forever-bemused voice.
